Hypnosis is a totally natural state, and you are in control all the time. It can be anything between daydreaming and near-sleep. During your hypnotherapy session, you enter a deep state of hypnosis, usually induced by a combination of words, thoughts and images.
You can open your eyes at any time (and clients often do), you can come out of the trance at any time. But because it is a very pleasurable thing to do, you can sit back and just enjoy the session.
Hypnosis is extremely relaxing. Your body and mind are at rest, and for many people, this can be the most relaxed they have ever been. Just imagine yourself in a comfy chair on the beach, or in the most comfortable bed, and you are close to the sensations brought on by hypnosis.
Because hypnosis allows you to relax, both in body and mind, your therapist can talk directly to you via your subconscious. The subconscious is where problems are often formed, so by talking to the subconscious, the problem can be challenged and overcome.
At the end of each session, you come back to full consciousness, awake and alert, and feeling better about yourself. Sometimes you don't remember anything of the session, only that you were very, very relaxed. Other times, you might remember everything. What's important to know is that your subconscious hears and remembers everything.
Hypnotherapy can help you to do what you really want to do, how you really want to be, because that is why you are reading this now. It can allow you to take control over your life. Can you imagine that? Can you take a moment to see how that would feel?
