What is Counselling?

Counselling can be many things to many people:

  • a chance to share a secret
  • a place to talk about feelings or thoughts
  • an opportunity to work out problems, to overcome issues
  • somewhere to build confidence, self-esteem
  • simply to be listened to without fear, judgement or criticism
  • to be able to look at oneself from a different point of view
  • somewhere to cry or be angry or be sad or happy

Often we suffer from thoughts,  behaviours, feelings or actions that seem to poison us, whether emotionally, mentally, or psychologically. Counselling offers an opportunity to deal with those unwanted issues.

Please note that for those clients who have been through the Wellbeing service on the NHS, my sessions are completely different - you have an hour session at your convenience, weekly, fortnightly or monthly. There are no forms to fill in every week - I take your details when we first meet, and that is it.

If you would like to talk about counselling or arrange an appointment, please use the form on the contact page, or call me on 07972057309 or 01933 626253.
